Danial Stredder
Director of Tennis Coaching
Level of qualification: Level 1
Danial has recently returned from four years as the Head Professional and Regional Manager for a large tennis coaching company in the UK. Danial has coached in various venues including Schools, Resorts and Tennis clubs at all levels of players. Danial’s holistic and technical approach to tennis coupled with his on-court enthusiasm and fun sees kids learning the game of tennis with maximum enjoyment.
Sanjeev Tikaram
Head coach
Level of qualification: Level 2
Sanjeev is a level 2 tennis coach who has had a highly successful tennis career in both coaching and playing. Sanjeev was the head coach for the International Tennis Federation’s Pacific Region. Sanjeev also had a very successful playing career in which he represented both Fiji and the Pacific Oceanic Team in Davis Cup for 8 years. Sanjeev then moved to Australia in 2005 where he is currently working as a Head Coach for us at The Gap Health and Racquet Club.
Jamie Wareham
Head coach
Level of qualification: Level 1
Jamie obtained his level 1 coaching certificate in the UK, where he was coaching all standards of Junior and Adult tennis players. He then moved to Australia 3 years ago and has become an integral part of the coaching team at The Gap Health and Racquet Club ever since. Jamie is heavily involved with our top junior players as well as our younger, developing players and runs several junior fixture programs. Jamie’s diversity and appreciation of tennis is apparent in every aspect of his coaching and dealings with his students.
Jacqui Miller
Head coach
Level of qualification: Level 2
Jacqui is a level 2 qualified tennis coach who has been coaching all standards of players since 1993. Jacqui has achieved a high level of recognition through tennis in Queensland not only through her high level of playing ability but also through the development and ongoing commitment to all her coaching pupils, past and present. Jacqui is a qualified Primary School teacher and a mother, both of which have enhanced and complimented her coaching style and abilities.
Declan Pearce
Head coach
Level of qualification: Level 1
Declan is a level 1 (TCA) qualified tennis who has been coaching for the last 5 years. Declan has coached both adults and juniors but is currently focusing on junior development. Declan’s love for tennis is evident when he is on court coaching and has a very holistic approach to his coaching making lessons both enjoyable and technique-based.. He has been playing for the past 11 years and was a solid tournament player who was in a full-time squad for a while under the top junior coach, Wayne Hansen. Declan is new to our team but already has proved to be an important part.
Lachy Miller
Tennis coach
Level of qualification: Level 1
Lachy has recently obtained his level 1 coaching certificate but has been coaching with the Gap Health and Racquet Club for the last couple of years. Lachie has been around tennis since he could hold a tennis racquet and as a player has been highly ranked on the junior tennis scene. Lachie brings a high level of innovation and enthusiasm to his on-court coaching which is a winner amongst his pupils and sees a high retention rate.
Liam Gillies
Tennis coach
Level of qualification: Level 1
Liam has been a tennis coach for the past 6 years and has his ATPCA Level 1 qualification. Liam started playing tennis at the age of 11 and developed into a highly ranked player. Liam then continued his tennis career as a coach with the GHRC and has built a fantastic reputation. The emphasis on his younger kids is about fun and loving tennis whereas Liam’s coaching is all about technique, intensity and being game-ready for the older players.
Daniel Yap
Tennis coach
Level of qualification: Level 1
Daniel Yap is one of our newest coaches in the team and after recently completing his level 1 qualification with Tennis Australia; Daniel is already having a big impact on his students. His philosophy with his tennis coaching is “Have A Go” and the emphasis is on making learning fun. Daniel continues to play fixtures on a regular basis and has done at a competitive level since he was about 8.
