Survey Results

A massive thank you to everyone who participated in our 2010 Group Fitness Survey. I really appreciate the time you took to provide your honest and open feedback. You gave us lots to think about and you will see some changes throughout the club as a result of YOUR feedback.

This will start with the timetable, exhaust in the RPM room, better storage in the group fitness rooms, more weights for the pump classes, repairs to some equipment and more frequent maintenance and some adjustment to volume in some of your classes. All your feedback for our instructors has also been passed on, so thank you for your honesty, they appreciated both the wondefully positive feedback and the helpful advice you gave them.

Please keep the feedback coming. There is a comments box at reception. I always appreciate your feedback and take as much of it on board as I can.

Thanks again

Protein and Exercise

The post-exercise protein meal may be the most important meal for muscle growth.

In health fitness, muscle growth is perhaps the most important thing that you can do. In fact, it may be the most important thing you can do for your body and mind. The reason growing lean muscle is so important is because it will help with controlling your weight by helping you burn more calories. It helps the mind by increasing confidence and self worth.

It is of utmost importance in the elderly population, because it will help with osteoporosis, by building stronger, bigger bones and also allows one to be physically stronger and fatigue less easily. So by growing more muscle daily tasks are much easier, not to mention much safer, helping prevent falls and injuries.

We know that growing bigger muscles requires the stimulus, which is progressive resistance training exercises, but also the building blocks that make building muscle happen, which is of course proper nutrition. Of course there are other factors that must be satisfied, such as taking rest days and avoiding overtraining, sleeping well and training consistently, but the above two are perhaps the most imperative.

Protein is available now from reception. If you would like more information, chat to one of our Personal Trainers or email Chantal chantal@healthracquet.net
